Ysabel Duron honored for commitment to Latino community

by Mekahlo Medina

Congratulations to NAHJ hall of famer and lifetime member Ysabel Duron on her retirement from broadcasting after 42 years.

She wrote this: “I go not gently into the great goodnight but continue my encore career at Latinas Contra Cancer which I launched almost a decade ago. I can now focus my energies on this work of prevention, support and research, which is so needed in the Latino community. You will continue to hear from me from another kind of bully pulpit. But I thank God for the great run I had in this challenging, exciting and oft time frustrating career in broadcast journalism…”
